Water Released From Thirumoorthy Dam For Irrigation; Farmers Urged To Use Water Judiciously

Water has been released from the Thirumoorthy dam in Tamil Nadu to irrigate 94,201 acres in the second-zone command areas of the Palaru riverbed. Minister K G Arunraj appealed to farmers to use the water judiciously and cooperate with the water resources department. Water will be released for 60 days between November 4, 2026, and January 3, 2027, with a total allocation of 3,500 million cubic feet. An additional 250 million cubic feet is allocated for old ayacut areas.

तमिलनाडु के तिरुमूर्ति बांध से पालार नदी के तल में दूसरे ज़ोन कमांड क्षेत्रों के 94,201 एकड़ में सिंचाई के लिए पानी छोड़ा गया है। मंत्री के जी अरुणराज ने किसानों से पानी का समझदारी से इस्तेमाल करने और जल संसाधन विभाग के साथ सहयोग करने की अपील की। 4 नवंबर 2026 से 3 जनवरी 2027 तक 60 दिनों के लिए पानी छोड़ा जाएगा, जिसमें कुल 3,500 मिलियन क्यूबिक फीट पानी आवंटित किया गया है। पुराने अयकाट क्षेत्रों के लिए 250 मिलियन क्यूबिक फीट अतिरिक्त पानी आवंटित किया गया है।
