Bihar Museum in Patna has achieved a remarkable ninth position among the world's 100 best museums in 2026, surpassing renowned institutions like New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and Paris's Louvre. Compiled by Munich-based independent travel guide Worth a Journey, the ranking considered visitor reviews, data analysis, and on-site assessments. Designed by Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki, the museum, established in 2015, showcases Bihar's rich cultural heritage through ancient sculptures, archaeological treasures, and folk art. It is the highest-ranked museum in Asia and the sole Indian institution in the top 100.
