Kerala to Formulate Comprehensive Water Policy by Early 2027

Kerala will formulate a comprehensive water policy by early 2027, integrating various departments to address drinking water supply and irrigation challenges. Water resources minister Mons Joseph announced the policy aims to make the water resources department and Kerala Water Authority more efficient and people-friendly. Initiatives include a pilot project to reduce water loss in Thiruvananthapuram's distribution network and exploring desalination plants for coastal areas. The state will also address water weed issues in Kuttanad and form constituency-level committees to improve coordination.

केरल 2027 की शुरुआत तक एक व्यापक जल नीति बनाएगा, जिसमें पेयजल आपूर्ति और सिंचाई की चुनौतियों से निपटने के लिए विभिन्न विभागों को एकीकृत किया जाएगा। जल संसाधन मंत्री मॉन्स जोसेफ ने घोषणा की कि नीति का उद्देश्य जल संसाधन विभाग और केरल जल प्राधिकरण को अधिक कुशल और जन-अनुकूल बनाना है। पहलों में तिरुवनंतपुरम के वितरण नेटवर्क में पानी के नुकसान को कम करने के लिए एक पायलट प्रोजेक्ट और तटीय क्षेत्रों के लिए विलवणीकरण संयंत्रों की खोज शामिल है। राज्य कुट्टनाड में जलकुंभी की समस्याओं का भी समाधान करेगा और समन्वय में सुधार के लिए निर्वाचन क्षेत्र-स्तरीय समितियों का गठन करेगा।
