A Special Court for POCSO cases has granted the Special Investigation Team (SIT) two days of police custody for R. Veeramani, the 84-year-old owner of Gem Granites. Veeramani has been in judicial custody since his arrest in August and again on October 7 for a second case. The SIT stated that his custodial interrogation is necessary to identify individuals linked to him. Veeramani's counsel argued against the plea, citing an exhaustive investigation already conducted. The court ordered his interrogation from Thursday evening to Saturday evening.

POCSO मामलों की एक विशेष अदालत ने जेम ग्रेनाइट्स के 84 वर्षीय मालिक आर. वीरमणि को विशेष जांच दल (SIT) की दो दिन की पुलिस हिरासत में भेज दिया है। वीरमणि अगस्त से न्यायिक हिरासत में थे और दूसरी बार 7 अक्टूबर को गिरफ्तार हुए थे। SIT ने कहा कि उनसे जुड़े लोगों की पहचान के लिए उनकी हिरासत में पूछताछ ज़रूरी है। वीरमणि के वकील ने पहले ही की गई विस्तृत जांच का हवाला देते हुए इस अर्जी का विरोध किया। अदालत ने गुरुवार शाम से शनिवार शाम तक उनकी पूछताछ का आदेश दिया।
