Fifteen Elephants Die In Kenya Park

Fifteen elephants have died in Kenya over the past month, with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) suspecting cyanide poisoning. Analysis of samples from the carcasses revealed traces of the toxic chemical compound. KWS director general Erustus Kanga stated that the elephants may have ingested pesticides used on nearby tomato farms. Cyanide is also used as a pest fumigant and by poachers.
