बॉम्बे हाईकोर्ट ने महाराष्ट्र सरकार से उस याचिका पर जवाब मांगा है जिसमें एंटी-सीईसी विरोध प्रदर्शनों और 11, 2026 के दौरान मुंबई पुलिस द्वारा की गई अवैध हिरासत का आरोप लगाया गया है। राज्य ने किसी भी अवैध हिरासत से इनकार किया है। अदालत ने मौखिक रूप से कहा कि शांतिपूर्ण प्रदर्शन मौलिक अधिकार हैं, लेकिन प्रदर्शनकारियों की पहचान और जनता को होने वाली असुविधा पर विचार किया जाना चाहिए। कई लोगों ने दावा किया कि विरोध प्रदर्शन में भाग न लेने के बावजूद उन्हें उनके घरों से हिरासत में लिया गया था। अदालत विरोध के अधिकार और जनता को होने वाली असुविधा तथा प्रतिभागियों की पृष्ठभूमि की चिंताओं के बीच संतुलन बना रही है।
