At least three motorcyclists skidded and fell on Kolkata's newly painted rainbow flyovers on Tuesday afternoon amid light rain, sparking road safety concerns. The incidents occurred on the Chingrighata flyover on EM Bypass, connecting Kolkata and Bidhannagar. While no injuries were reported, experts warned that decorative, non-standard paint on roadways can become dangerously slick when wet, reducing tyre grip. Authorities have dispatched a team to inspect the flyovers and report on the safety hazards posed by the festive decorations.
