China-Linked Hackers Target IT Firm ConnectWise Using AI Tool

Microsoft revealed that a China state-aligned hacking group, tracked as Storm-0940, targeted IT services firm ConnectWise using an AI-driven penetration testing tool. The attack, which compromised ConnectWise Cloud Backup, was part of a broader campaign affecting hundreds of organizations globally across various sectors. While many targets were unsuccessful, the hackers achieved privileged cloud persistence in numerous organizations. China's embassy spokesperson denied involvement, stating the country opposes and fights hacking activities.

Microsoft ने बताया कि Storm-0940 नाम का चीन से जुड़ा हैकिंग ग्रुप, AI-संचालित पेनिट्रेशन टेस्टिंग टूल का इस्तेमाल करके IT सर्विस फर्म ConnectWise को निशाना बना रहा था। ConnectWise Cloud Backup से छेड़छाड़ करने वाला यह हमला, दुनिया भर के सैकड़ों संगठनों को प्रभावित करने वाले एक बड़े अभियान का हिस्सा था। हालाँकि कई लक्ष्य असफल रहे, हैकर्स ने कई संगठनों में विशेषाधिकार प्राप्त क्लाउड परसिस्टेंस हासिल कर लिया। चीन के दूतावास के प्रवक्ता ने इसमें शामिल होने से इनकार किया और कहा कि देश हैकिंग गतिविधियों का विरोध करता है और उनसे लड़ता है।
