Over 70,000 people have fled their homes in Yemen following an offensive by Iran-backed Houthi rebels aiming to capture the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Many displaced individuals have sought refuge in Aden, while approximately 1,400 have crossed into neighbouring Djibouti. The United Nations and the International Organization for Migration are concerned that this new wave of displacement is exacerbating the already severe humanitarian crisis in Yemen, a nation ravaged by 12 years of conflict.
