Homebuyer Wins Case Against Builder For Delayed Flat Possession

Times of India - Business · business

Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has ordered a builder to pay interest to a homebuyer for delayed possession of a flat. The homebuyer had paid Rs 39.15 lakh but did not receive the flat within the agreed timeframe. The builder blamed administrative changes involving Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) for the delay. However, MahaRERA rejected this excuse, citing a June 30, 2021 notification that placed the project's location under PMC's jurisdiction prior to the sale agreement.
