Two promising Indian sprinters, Mrutyam Jayaram Dondapati (21) and Malaya Barik (20), tragically died when their motorcycle skidded and crashed into a barricade on NH-16 near Cuttack. Both athletes were reportedly riding without helmets at high speed late on Wednesday night while travelling for Durga Puja festivities. They were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead. Both athletes trained at Kalinga Stadium's High Performance Centres, and their deaths are considered a profound loss to Odisha's sporting community.
