Indian Markets Trade Lower Amid Global Weakness

Indian equity benchmarks experienced significant losses in early trade, influenced by weak global cues, rising crude oil prices, and concerns surrounding AI safety. The Nifty hovered near the 23,900 mark, with all NSE sectoral indices trading in the red. The S&P BSE Sensex fell 695.53 points, and the Nifty 50 index dropped 222.95 points. Both the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices also tumbled. Foreign portfolio investors were net sellers, while domestic institutional investors bought shares.
