जनता दल (यूनाइटेड) ने पार्टी विरोधी गतिविधियों के चलते अपने मोकामा विधायक, अनंत कुमार सिंह को छह साल के लिए पार्टी से निकाल दिया है। पार्टी ने बिहार विधानसभा अध्यक्ष से उन्हें विधायक के तौर पर अयोग्य घोषित करने का भी आग्रह किया है। सिंह ने कथित तौर पर हाल के विधान परिषद चुनावों में जद(यू) के आधिकारिक उम्मीदवार के खिलाफ प्रचार किया था और जन सुराज के एक उम्मीदवार का समर्थन किया था। उनकी पत्नी, नीलम देवी को भी इसी तरह के कारणों से पार्टी से निकाल दिया गया है। यह कार्रवाई पार्टी के आंतरिक असंतोष और प्रतिद्वंद्वी उम्मीदवारों के लिए प्रचार के खिलाफ कड़े रुख को दर्शाती है।
