CNG Cars May Be Greener Than EVs In India, TERI Study Reveals
TV9 Hindi · automobile
A recent study by TERI suggests that CNG vehicles might have a lower environmental impact than electric vehicles (EVs) over their entire lifecycle in India. This is primarily due to India's current power mix, which relies heavily on coal for electricity generation. While EVs produce no tailpipe emissions, the electricity used to charge them contributes to carbon emissions during production. The study also considers the environmental impact of battery manufacturing and disposal for EVs, which is not a factor for CNG vehicles.
