A Delhi court has discharged UK national Inderpal Singh Gaba from charges of insulting the Indian national flag, stating the alleged offense occurred on foreign soil. However, the court ordered framing of charges against him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). His alleged participation in a protest where pro-Khalistan slogans were raised and standing on the Indian flag was deemed an "unlawful activity" under the anti-terror law. The case stems from violent protests outside the Indian High Commission in London in March 2023.
