Ganjam Schools Shut Until November 7 Due to Flood Damage

Schools in Ganjam district will remain closed until November 7 to allow for cleaning and restoration following recent floods. Cyclone Arnab's aftermath inundated 498 out of 3,890 schools, damaging computer systems, libraries, and mid-day meal supplies. Blocks in Aska, Dharakote, and Purushottampur are the most affected. Teachers and staff are actively involved in clearing debris and silt. A central team has also inspected flood damage across the district, assessing losses to crops, infrastructure, and housing.

हाल की बाढ़ के बाद सफाई और बहाली के लिए गंजम जिले के स्कूल 7 नवंबर तक बंद रहेंगे। चक्रवात अर्नाब के बाद 3,890 स्कूलों में से 498 स्कूल जलमग्न हो गए, जिससे कंप्यूटर सिस्टम, पुस्तकालय और मिड-डे मील की आपूर्ति को नुकसान पहुंचा। अस्का, धराकোট और पुरूषोत्तमपुर के ब्लॉक सबसे ज़्यादा प्रभावित हैं। शिक्षक और कर्मचारी मलबे और गाद को हटाने में सक्रिय रूप से लगे हुए हैं। एक केंद्रीय टीम ने भी जिले भर में बाढ़ से हुए नुकसान का निरीक्षण किया है, जिसमें फसलों, बुनियादी ढांचे और आवासों के नुकसान का आकलन किया गया है।
