The Indian Army has decided to extend the service tenure for 75% of Agniveers from four to six years. This decision, announced by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, aims to provide an additional two-year period for Agniveers who do not secure permanent positions. While this extension offers more service time, it does not guarantee permanent jobs, as selection will still depend on performance and selection criteria.
