The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and European Union (EU) summit, scheduled for October 24 in Riyadh, has been postponed to a later date. The GCC Secretariat cited recent Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, including a missile strike on King Khalid International Airport, as the reason for the delay. The safety of visiting delegates is a primary concern, impacting flight operations. The summit aimed to discuss economic relations, climate change, energy, and research opportunities between the two blocs. New dates for the summit have not yet been announced.
