The aircraft, identified as NBC Los Angeles' NewsChopper4, was reporting on a separate deadly bus collision in the Chatsworth neighbourhood. Fire authorities confirmed the crash occurred just before 7 PM local time. The helicopter's fall caused a fire that spread to vehicles and storage containers. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass expressed devastation over the loss of life.
