Man Gets Death Penalty For Assam Girl's Rape

An Assam court has sentenced Utpal Roy to death for the rape and murder of a four-year-old girl in 2023. The Bilasipara Additional and District Court Special Judge Rana Dutta called the crime "rarest of rare" and handed down capital punishment. Roy also received concurrent sentences for aggravated penetrative sexual assault, causing disappearance of evidence, and giving false information, along with fines. The brutal crime occurred at Krishnakali Tea Estate in Dhubri district.

असम की एक अदालत ने 2023 में चार साल की बच्ची के बलात्कार और हत्या के मामले में उत्पाल रॉय को मौत की सज़ा सुनाई है। विशेष न्यायाधीश राणा दत्ता ने इस अपराध को "दुर्लभ से दुर्लभतम" बताते हुए मौत की सज़ा का ऐलान किया। रॉय को इसके अलावा यौन उत्पीड़न, सबूत मिटाने और झूठी जानकारी देने के मामलों में भी सज़ा हुई है। यह भयानक घटना धुबरी जिले के कृष्णाकाली टी एस्टेट में हुई थी।
