Actor Imran Khan was detained by Mumbai Police on October 10 at August Kranti Maidan, a proposed protest venue. He shared a selfie from inside a police van, humorously captioning it, “Apparently I’m going for a drive.” Police stated no permission was granted for the protest, as court directives permit demonstrations only at Azad Maidan. CJP workers, however, claimed they had emailed the police for permission without receiving a response.
