कैरेफोर के सीईओ एलेक्जेंडर बॉम्पार्ड ने बताया कि हाल ही में फ्रांस भर में हुए दंगों के दौरान उसके 50 स्टोर और 1,500 से ज़्यादा अन्य दुकानों को नुकसान पहुँचा है। बॉम्पार्ड ने हिंसा की निंदा करते हुए कहा कि व्यवसायों और उनके कर्मचारियों पर ऐसे हमलों को कोई भी चीज़ सही नहीं ठहरा सकती। उन्होंने ज़िम्मेदार लोगों के ख़िलाफ़ सख़्त कार्रवाई की माँग की और दुकानदारों की सुरक्षा के लिए सरकार से आग्रह किया। सीईओ ने प्रभावित व्यवसाय मालिकों के लिए मुआवज़े की प्रक्रिया को तेज़ करने का भी अनुरोध किया, और इस स्थिति की तुलना प्राकृतिक आपदा राहत से की।
