Granite Baron Veeramani Booked Under POSCO Act in 2004 Suicide Case

Granite baron R Veeramani has been booked under the POSCO Act for allegedly abetting the suicide of a minor girl in 2004. The case resurfaced after a text message prompted the victim's mother to file a fresh complaint alleging sexual abuse. A Special Investigation Team has been formed to probe the authenticity of the message and the allegations. Police are also investigating financial transactions linked to the case, including ₹24.63 crore transferred from Veeramani's account. Bail petitions for co-accused Shanthi and Mahendra Simhan have been reserved.
