Hong Kong pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong has been sentenced to an additional 10 years in prison by the city's High Court. He was found guilty of colluding with foreign entities under the national security law. The sentence comes just months before his expected release in January 2027. Wong, who has been imprisoned since 2020, pleaded guilty to the charge in September. The court cited the gravity of the crime and the need to express societal abhorrence for his actions.

हांगकांग के लोकतंत्र समर्थक कार्यकर्ता जोशुआ वोंग को शहर की हाई कोर्ट ने राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा कानून के तहत विदेशी संस्थाओं के साथ मिलीभगत के जुर्म में 10 साल की अतिरिक्त जेल की सजा सुनाई है। यह सजा जनवरी 2027 में उनकी अपेक्षित रिहाई से कुछ महीने पहले आई है। 2020 से जेल में बंद वोंग ने सितंबर में इस आरोप के लिए दोषी ठहराया था। अदालत ने अपराध की गंभीरता और उनके कार्यों के प्रति सामाजिक घृणा व्यक्त करने की आवश्यकता का हवाला दिया।
