Bengaluru-based Venomics AI has successfully raised $2.7 million in a pre-seed funding round, co-led by Speciale Invest and South Park Commons. The startup, originating from the Indian Institute of Science, utilizes a combination of venom biology, AI, and experimental screening to identify and develop potential therapeutic compounds from animal venoms. This funding will be instrumental in expanding their 'Venom Atlas' dataset and enhancing their AI and laboratory screening capabilities. Venomics AI aims to unlock the largely unexplored molecular diversity found in venoms for novel drug discovery.
