Save Old Goa Campaign to File Legal Challenge Over Heritage Pillar Naming

The Save Old Goa Action Committee (SOGAC) has launched a signature campaign and plans to take legal action regarding the proposed name ‘Haat Katro Khamb’ for a heritage pillar. Residents had previously submitted objections to the directorate of archaeology in April. SOGAC argues the pillar already has established names like ‘Pelourinho Novo’ and ‘Nhovo Khambo’. They are preparing a court case and will submit further evidence, including photographs, to support their claim that the pillar is historically known by other names.
