Indian Oil Q2 Profit Nearly Triples To ₹21,630 Crore On LPG Compensation
Business Standard · business
Indian Oil Corporation reported a nearly threefold jump in its second-quarter profit, reaching ₹21,630 crore, up from ₹7,610 crore in the previous year. This significant increase was primarily driven by government compensation of ₹7,243 crore for losses incurred on domestic LPG sales. Despite higher crude oil prices impacting operational costs, the company's revenue from operations also saw a substantial rise of about 30%. The company cautioned that a potential fall in global crude prices could affect future profitability due to inventory losses.
