Bihar's Deputy CM and Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav announced that salary payments for approximately 10.30 lakh government personnel in the education and home departments have been halted. This action follows the detection of excess salary withdrawals from state treasuries, as highlighted in a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report. The CAG's findings, which were tabled in the state assembly, prompted inquiries into the irregularities. Salary payments will only resume after these investigations are completed and any guilty parties are identified and held accountable.
