A 40-year-old woman has been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly extorting nearly Rs 4 crore from a 61-year-old jewellery shop owner. The accused, Naznin Mehmood, allegedly threatened to circulate video recordings of the complainant watching her undress or bathe. She claimed the recordings had reached authorities and demanded money for their deletion. The extortion reportedly occurred between February 2025 and August 2026, with payments made in cash and online. The complainant also alleged threats of physical harm if demands were not met.

मुंबई में 40 साल की एक महिला को 61 साल के एक ज्वैलरी शॉप के मालिक से कथित तौर पर करीब 4 करोड़ रुपये की उगाही करने के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया है। आरोपी, नज़नीन महमूद, ने कथित तौर पर शिकायतकर्ता को कपड़े बदलते या नहाते हुए रिकॉर्ड किए गए वीडियो को प्रसारित करने की धमकी दी थी। उसने दावा किया कि रिकॉर्डिंग अधिकारियों तक पहुंच गई है और उन्हें हटाने के लिए पैसे मांगे। कथित तौर पर यह उगाही फरवरी 2025 और अगस्त 2026 के बीच हुई, जिसमें नकद और ऑनलाइन भुगतान किए गए। शिकायतकर्ता ने यह भी आरोप लगाया कि अगर मांगें पूरी नहीं हुईं तो शारीरिक नुकसान की धमकी दी गई थी।
