Villagers Protest Sewage Plant Near Sholinghur

Villagers in Ranipet district have protested the proposed construction of a sewage treatment plant in Udayarpalayam hamlet, fearing pollution of groundwater and the Palar River. Farmers and traders are concerned that the plant, planned by the Sholinghur municipality, will contaminate water sources vital for agriculture. Municipal officials stated that land within town limits is too expensive and densely populated, making Udayarpalayam a more feasible location. The new plant aims to treat wastewater from Sholinghur town and prevent illegal discharge into local water bodies.

रानीपेट जिले के उदययारपालयम गांव के लोग सीवेज ट्रीटमेंट प्लांट बनाने के प्रस्ताव का विरोध कर रहे हैं। उन्हें डर है कि इससे भूजल और पालर नदी प्रदूषित हो जाएगी। किसानों और व्यापारियों को चिंता है कि शोलिंगुर नगरपालिका की यह योजना खेती के लिए जरूरी पानी को दूषित कर देगी। नगरपालिका का कहना है कि शहर में जमीन महंगी है, इसलिए यह जगह ठीक है। यह प्लांट शोलिंगुर शहर के गंदे पानी को साफ करेगा।
