Bihar Woman Alleges Husband Remarried After Dowry Demands, Cruel Treatment

A woman in Bihar's Madhubani district has accused her husband and in-laws of demanding a motorcycle and a buffalo as dowry, despite receiving approximately ₹10 lakh in cash, gold, and other items during their May 2024 wedding. She alleges that when the demands were not met, she was subjected to abuse, starvation, and physical violence, eventually being driven out of the house with her infant child. The victim further claims her husband secretly remarried and even attempted to forcibly take their child.

बिहार के मधुबनी जिले की एक महिला ने अपने पति और ससुराल वालों पर दहेज में मोटरसाइकिल और भैंस मांगने का आरोप लगाया है, जबकि मई 2024 में हुई उनकी शादी में उन्हें करीब ₹10 लाख नकद, सोना और अन्य सामान मिल चुका था। उसने आरोप लगाया कि मांगें पूरी न होने पर उसे दुर्व्यवहार, भूखा रखने और शारीरिक हिंसा का शिकार बनाया गया, और आखिरकार उसे अपने नवजात बच्चे के साथ घर से निकाल दिया गया। पीड़ित ने आगे दावा किया कि उसके पति ने चुपके से दूसरी शादी कर ली और बच्चे को जबरन छीनने की भी कोशिश की।
