Ujjain Tension After Stone Pelting Near Mosque

Tension erupted in Ujjain morning after authorities attempted to remove a part of the Shahi Masjid for road widening. Clashes broke out between police and protestors, leading to the detention of 10 individuals. Five were arrested for spreading rumours on social media, while five others were reportedly outsiders trying to enter the city. Police deployed around 2,500 personnel to maintain order. During the confrontation, police faced stone-pelting, resulting in injuries to about half a dozen officers. Tear gas and lathi-charge were used to disperse the crowd.
