The Union government has issued an advisory to Meta, urging the company to prevent its algorithms from disproportionately amplifying single or limited narratives on its social media platforms. Meta has also been asked to monitor posts that could potentially incite public disorder, violence, or other unlawful activities. This advisory comes in the wake of protests demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing concerns over the Election Commission's functioning and electoral roll revisions.
