India's food regulator, FSSAI, has issued notices to Nestlé India and Hindustan Unilever Ltd for alleged misleading claims on product packaging. Nestlé's Resource Renal Vanilla Flavour Powder faced scrutiny for not seeking prior approval and failing to label its vegetarian or non-vegetarian status. FSSAI also flagged claims like 'Nutrition for Strong Bones' as non-compliant. Hindustan Unilever's Horlicks products, including Mother's Plus and Women's Plus, were cited for 'happy birth weight' and bone health claims. Both companies have been asked to respond to the alleged violations.
