Premium spirits in India are experiencing significantly faster sales growth compared to cheaper liquor, according to a report by the International Spirits and Wines Association of India (ISWAI). The premium segment's sales volumes grew at a compound annual rate of 10.2% between 2022 and 2025, far exceeding the 1.1% growth for the lowest-priced category. Super-premium Indian-made spirits saw even more rapid expansion at approximately 34% annually. This shift is attributed to rising incomes, evolving consumer aspirations, and enhanced retail experiences that encourage exploration and higher spending.
