US President Donald Trump has signed a memorandum to remove Canadian-origin goods from the US federal civil procurement system. This move escalates trade tensions between the two nations. The administration cited Canada's "unreasonable and discriminatory treatment" of US goods and restrictions on US companies accessing Canadian markets. Canadian companies currently have preferential access to over $280 billion of the US government procurement system, a benefit the US seeks to reciprocate.

अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प ने एक मेमोरेंडम पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। इसके तहत कनाडा से आने वाले सामानों को अमेरिकी सरकारी खरीद प्रणाली से बाहर कर दिया जाएगा। इससे दोनों देशों के बीच व्यापार तनाव बढ़ गया है। अमेरिका का कहना है कि कनाडा अमेरिकी सामानों के साथ भेदभाव कर रहा है और अपनी मंडियों तक अमेरिकी कंपनियों की पहुंच सीमित कर रहा है। फिलहाल कनाडाई कंपनियों को अमेरिकी सरकार की 280 अरब डॉलर से अधिक की खरीद में तरजीह मिलती है।
