Akal Takht To Document Sikh Deaths During Militancy

The Akal Takht, Sikhism's highest temporal seat, will document the deaths of Sikhs during the militancy period from 1982 to 1995. This decision was announced after an Ardas (prayer) organised by the Akal Takht and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) at Harike Pattan. The prayer commemorated Sikhs killed in 1984 and the subsequent decade, a tumultuous period in Punjab's history.
