A massive flood surge from Nepal reached Bihar after heavy rains. Engineers at the 60-year-old Gandak Barrage in Valmikinagar opened all 36 gates, releasing nearly 1.5 lakh cusecs of water. This controlled release helped manage the sudden surge from the Gandak River. Despite the barrage's efforts, some downstream villages still faced flooding and required evacuations, highlighting the power of extreme flood events.

नेपाल से भारी बारिश के बाद बिहार में बाढ़ का पानी घुस गया। वाल्मीकिनगर के 60 साल पुराने गंडक बैराज के इंजीनियरों ने सभी 36 गेट खोल दिए, जिससे करीब 1.5 लाख क्यूसेक पानी छोड़ा गया। गंडक नदी से आए अचानक पानी के बहाव को नियंत्रित करने में इससे मदद मिली। बैराज के प्रयास के बावजूद, कुछ निचले इलाकों के गांवों में बाढ़ आ गई और लोगों को निकालना पड़ा।
