Karnataka Cyber Command Unit has arrested four individuals in Bengaluru for allegedly operating an illegal SIM box network. The network, found in two apartments in Whitefield, used 10 SIM box devices with a capacity for 320 SIM connections. Authorities suspect the network facilitated digital scams, sextortion, and financial cyberfrauds. The investigation was prompted by a complaint from Bharti Airtel regarding unauthorized SIM card usage. Preliminary leads suggest the network's financial exposure could run into hundreds of crores, though the exact losses and victim count are still under investigation.
