Festival Travel Costs Soar: Airfares Surge Fourfold for Diwali and Chhath

Travelling home for festivals like Diwali and Chhath has become a significant challenge for many Indian families due to soaring fares. Air tickets from Delhi to Patna, which normally cost around ₹6,000, have now reached ₹24,000. Fares on routes to Darbhanga and Gaya have also doubled or more. This increase, up to four times the usual price, is placing a heavy burden on the budgets of ordinary travellers during the festive season.
