Sri Sathya Sai District Launches Life-Saving Irrigation Scheme For Orchards

Andhra Pradesh Horticulture Department has launched the Life-Saving Irrigation (LSI) Scheme in Sri Sathya Sai district to protect orchards from wilting due to heat and deficient rainfall. The scheme will supply water via tankers to farmers whose borewells have dried up, with the government covering 80% of the water cost. Different crops like sweet lime, mango, and arecanut will receive varying amounts of water and subsidies, with a maximum eligibility of five acres per farmer family. Farmers must apply through Rythu Bharosa Kendras, and tankers will be GPS-monitored for transparency.

आंध्र प्रदेश बागवानी विभाग ने श्री सत्य साईं जिले में लाइफ-सेविंग इरिगेशन (LSI) योजना शुरू की है ताकि गर्मी और कम बारिश से बागों को मुरझाने से बचाया जा सके। यह योजना उन किसानों को टैंकरों के माध्यम से पानी पहुंचाएगी जिनके बोरवेल सूख गए हैं, जिसमें सरकार पानी की 80% लागत वहन करेगी। मीठा नींबू, आम और सुपारी जैसी विभिन्न फसलों को अलग-अलग मात्रा में पानी और सब्सिडी मिलेगी, जिसमें प्रति किसान परिवार अधिकतम पांच एकड़ की पात्रता होगी। किसानों को रायथू भरोसा केंद्रों के माध्यम से आवेदन करना होगा, और पारदर्शिता के लिए टैंकरों की जीपीएस-निगरानी की जाएगी।
