A US Army general, Lt Gen Brett Sylvia, has admitted to leaking classified information regarding the wars in Iran and Ukraine to journalists over approximately one year. He acknowledged sharing sensitive details with two reporters from separate media outlets, communicating via encrypted messaging and in-person meetings. Sylvia was dismissed for severe misconduct, and the investigation has been referred to the Department of Justice. The leaks reportedly continued even after the Pentagon restricted media access. US President Donald Trump commented that the administration is actively seeking leakers.
