Union Minister Amit Shah stated that India's new criminal laws, fully implemented on July 1, 2024, aim to deliver justice within three years from FIR filing to the Supreme Court. He emphasized that the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and associated laws will modernize the criminal justice system, incorporating technology and addressing issues like mob lynching and terrorism. Shah contrasted these laws with British-era legislation, asserting the new ones protect citizens' rights and property. He also highlighted the government's focus on a separate cooperation ministry and combating drug abuse.
