Former University of Kentucky cheerleader Laken Snelling, 22, has received a 10-year prison sentence after admitting to killing her newborn son. The baby's body was discovered in a trash bag in a closet at her off-campus home in August 2025. Snelling pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and concealing the birth of an infant. She admitted to ending the baby's life by depriving him of oxygen, stating she was under emotional stress and the baby came unexpectedly.
