Times of India · india

Hyderabad police have busted an alleged commercial egg donation racket, rescuing 48 women and arresting eight agents. The operation began when investigators followed a tip-off about a suspected prostitution ring at a hostel. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the egg donation scheme instead of prostitution. Police are now investigating whether assisted reproductive technology centers complied with mandatory norms during egg procurement and if the rescued women received hormonal injections. The agents reportedly lured women with payments ranging from Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 for donating eggs.
