Israel's 'Yellow Line' Policy Displaces Tens of Thousands in Southern Lebanon

Al Jazeera · world

Tens of thousands of Lebanese have been displaced from their homes in southern villages due to Israel's ongoing occupation and systematic demolition of homes and infrastructure. Despite a framework agreement for withdrawal, Israel continues to occupy a zone up to 10 kilometers deep, using a "Yellow Line" to mark its control. This policy aims to depopulate and make frontline villages uninhabitable, leading to a humanitarian tragedy for residents. The situation has escalated following Hezbollah rocket fire and subsequent Israeli intensification of attacks, displacing over 1.2 million people.
