Farmers in Sangli and Kolhapur, Maharashtra, protested on Monday with dried crops, angered by their exclusion from the state's drought-hit list. They claim several rain-deficient talukas, including Shirala, Walva, Hatkanangle, and Shirol, were wrongly omitted despite crop destruction and low groundwater levels. Protesters demanded that drought assessment consider actual ground conditions at the village and revenue circle levels, not just taluka-wide data. This exclusion exacerbates the crisis, leaving farmers without aid despite severe crop losses and emerging water shortages.

महाराष्ट्र के सांगली और कोल्हापुर के किसानों ने सोमवार को सूखे फसलों के साथ विरोध प्रदर्शन किया, क्योंकि उन्हें राज्य की सूखा प्रभावित सूची से बाहर रखा गया था। उनका दावा है कि शिराला, वालवा, हातकणंगले और शिरोल सहित कई कम बारिश वाले तालुकाओं को फसल विनाश और भूजल स्तर कम होने के बावजूद गलत तरीके से छोड़ दिया गया था। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने मांग की कि सूखे का आकलन केवल तालुका-व्यापी डेटा के बजाय, गांव और राजस्व मंडल स्तर पर वास्तविक जमीनी स्थितियों पर विचार करे। इस बहिष्कार से संकट और बढ़ गया है, जिससे किसानों को गंभीर फसल नुकसान और पानी की कमी के बावजूद सहायता नहीं मिल पा रही है।
