Madurai experienced significant flooding following overnight rainfall, but most areas returned to normal within six to seven hours thanks to a prepared corporation machinery and local MLAs. Around 80 pumps and two super-sucker machines were deployed across 180 flood-prone spots, effectively clearing water from major neighbourhoods by Friday morning. However, Sellur remained inundated until the evening due to drainage outlets being blocked by ongoing channel construction, causing distress to residents. Authorities have warned people to stay away from riverbanks due to the risk of sudden flooding.

रात भर हुई बारिश के बाद मदुरै में भारी बाढ़ आ गई, लेकिन तैयार कॉर्पोरेशन मशीनरी और स्थानीय विधायकों की मदद से छह से सात घंटे के भीतर अधिकांश इलाके सामान्य हो गए। लगभग 80 पंप और दो सुपर-सकर मशीनों को 180 बाढ़-प्रवण स्थानों पर तैनात किया गया, जिससे शुक्रवार की सुबह तक प्रमुख मोहल्लों से पानी प्रभावी ढंग से साफ हो गया। हालांकि, चल रहे चैनल निर्माण के कारण जल निकासी आउटलेट अवरुद्ध होने से सेल्लुर शाम तक जलमग्न रहा, जिससे निवासियों को परेशानी हुई। अधिकारियों ने अचानक बाढ़ के जोखिम के कारण लोगों को नदी के किनारों से दूर रहने की चेतावनी दी है।
