Prosus Ventures has spearheaded a $1.5 million pre-seed funding round for Indian space robotics startup Cosmochute. The company is part of the inaugural Atoms X cohort, a program focused on frontier technologies. Cosmochute aims to develop a modular lunar mobility platform called LEAP to support payload transportation and deployment on the Moon. This investment arrives as India's private space sector expands into in-space operations and lunar exploration, with Cosmochute's founders being UK-returned rocket engineers building in India. The funds will accelerate platform development, hiring, and research.
