The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has approved a record 107 corporate insolvency cases in the last quarter, with an estimated value of Rs 11,000 crore. This marks a significant increase from the 78 cases approved in the previous quarter. Despite this achievement, the tribunal faces a potential slowdown due to a substantial number of vacancies. Currently, NCLT is short of 14 members from its sanctioned strength of 62, impacting its operational capacity. The Mumbai bench led in approving resolution plans with 35 cases.
